Based on reputable life insurance actuarial tables and my average reading rate when I started this blog, I figured I had time to read 2,942 more books before I croaked. Here's where I talk about them and do the countdown.

I enjoy a visit to Pemberley with P.D. James
Death Comes to Pemberley ***1/2
by P.D. James
Murder mystery novelist P.D. James writes a tight little murder mystery using Austen's characters. There are some nice bits about the history of criminal law at the time of the Napoleonic Wars, and James ties up the loose ends by bringing in characters from other Austen novels.
So nicely crafted and engaging you forget it's really just a bit of fluff.
Those interested in more Austenia might try "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries" Web casts over on YouTube (pic top). Lots of fun.
